Portland

We had a trip to Portland last Thursday, very windy making taking pictures of the butterflies a little difficult.   We kept our eyes open for the Little Owl and we were rewarded, it was my Partner, Malcolm, who spotted it.

Little Owl, juvenile, nice to see that the Little Owls on Portland are breeding successfully

A lovely collection Lyn.
I can never find those Little Owl when I visit there.
They are supposed to be in the quarry area, but they always escape me.

Delighted to see you connected with the Little Owls at Portland again, Lin, and even more delighted to see that they've bred successfully - that's a juvenile that you've so nicely photographed!!

BTW, that's a male Migrant Hawker - nicely captured

Maybe I should take a trip down there sometime soon - it's years since I saw a Chalkhill Blue!

Best wishes - - - Richard

Thankyou Roy and Richard.

Hi Roy, the Little Owls at Portland is a case of luck, being there at the right time, the right quarry.

I thought that the Little Owl was a juvenile Richard, which is good news. Thankyou for confirming my dragonfly.
