We went to Arne for a walk and also for coffee, the RSPB now have a cafe at Arne and it is very nice. These oak trees are on the coastal edge and both are still alive and in full leaf which is surprising when you see how much of the soil has been washed away by the sea, exposing their roots.

It's truly amazing that the tree is still surviving, Lin - not just because of root exposure, but because I'd have thought that salt polution would pose an even bigger threat.
Best wishes - - Richard
I have thought of that too Richard, the salt on the roots, but amazingly they are surviving despite the times when the sea water washes over the roots.
