Clouded Yellow butterfly

This is the first time I have seen this butterfly. It is about the size of the Tortoiseshell butterfly and so easy to see when it flutters around.

Not one that I've seen before Linda.
Looks a beauty.

Thankyou Keith and Richard. From what I have read about these butterflies, they have explosions in numbers from a few hundred to millions once every decade. They are very easy to see and identify no doubt. Maybe this year will be their year.

I haven't seen any in this country as yet.
