We went to Alners Gorse, which is the Butterfly Conservation site. The main star attraction for me was the Brown Hairstreak, my first. This female sat and posed for us:) Saw a few Purple Hairstreaks, also my first. They are not easy to spot and get a good decent shot of them.

Great shot of a beautiful specimen Lyn, a species that I have never seen yet.

Thankyou Richard, Roy, Mike & Keith:) I was lucky with this butterfly, it stayed perched for a long time, so I had plenty of time to photograph it. This reserve is very popular with people who are into wildlife photography. They were all looking for the Hairstreaks.
