Orchids at Durlston Country Park

We had a lovely day at Durlston Country Park, making the most of the sunshine after having so much rain over the last few days.   Our mission was to find the Bee orchid, we were not disappointed, we found seventeen of them.  There are also plenty of other orchids, the Pyramidal orchid and the Common-spotted orchid.

Hi Lin

It's always a delight to see an orchid and those that you are showing us are beautiful! I've never seen a Bee Orchid, so must make an effort to find one.

Sorry to be so late in commenting - have been up in Scotland

Best wishes - - - Richard

Great range of wild flowers. I often why gardeners go to such lengths to nurse along exotic imports which are not suited to the climate to which they are introduced when there are so many beautiful native species all around.
