Spoonbills

Bitterly cold day, we took a quick dash out to see the Spoonbills, there are eleven of them in Holes Bay, Poole.   There was also a large flock of Avocets, too far away for a good picture.  Numerous of other birds; ducks, geese and waders in the bay also, but it was too cold to stand around for long.

That's a bird I'd love to see Linda.
Great shots.

They are lovely birds. I have never seen one although there was one near me last year, unfortunately it was while I was unwell so I wasn't able to go and see it.

I thought, for a horrible moment, that your image above showed the birds frozen into the ice. I was delighted to see that in the lower image they were fine! Magical Linda!

This is a great sighting Lyn.
Not standing around, yes I know what you mean.

Hi Keith, Jan, Richard & Roy
Thankyou for your comments. I knew they were in Holes Bay and as we were going along Holes Bay road on our way home from shopping in Poole, I spotted them, of course I did not have my camera with me. We dashed back with my camera after dumping the shopping and a quick bite to eat.
